Job Description

Assistant Category Manager India

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible and accountable for driving Depot & EMR projects globally for our Liner business unit in close cooperation with internal stakeholders. These projects could range up to multi-million dollars in annual spend.
As an Assistant Category Manager you will get exposed to a variety of consultancy tasks, e.g.:
•Planning and executing Category strategy for short, medium & long term
•Mapping and analyzing data on current spend patterns and identifying cost drivers and opportunities in complex markets
•Leading creative idea generation workshops with suppliers and internal stakeholders
•Developing and maintaining relationship with suppliers
•Communicating complicated messages and recommendations in compelling ways to senior levels within the business
•Preparing and executing different types of negotiations on-ground
•Developing innovative models to analyze supplier offers and quantify total cost and total value of ownership

Finally, you will have significant responsibility from the start and be expected to execute and deliver on time and in line with very ambitious targets including savings.

•Holds a Bachelor’s degree at minimum, MBA / Master’s degree will be an added advantage
•Relevant work experience of 3+ years from a reputed organization focusing on procurement, consulting, operations and/or project management
•Top performer who excels in executing under pressure and over-delivering towards clients
•Understands stakeholder management excellence and can build rapport even in challenging situations
•Demonstrates strong analytical skills and preferably with good experience in excel modelling
•Potential to quickly excel in our key differentiating skills: Sourcing Strategy, Negotiations, Cost Modelling and Project Management
•International mind-set, willingness to travel extensively and excitement to engage with foreign stakeholders
•Ambitious, Self-driven with Entrepreneurial spirit and independent decision-making ability
