Maritime Manager - Safety and Audit Fort Lauderdale, FL

We are currently seeking a RAAS Maritime Manager. The Manager will be responsible in helping us to achieve our goal of reducing accidents and avoiding repeat incidents.  This position requires a highly motivated professional to identify opportunities for improvement, root cause(s) and share the lessons learned across all brands. 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide input to the development  of  independent focused reviews and evaluations of “All Brand” assets
  • Perform independent focused reviews and evaluations of “All Brand” assets
  • Support the Director in the review of incidents and near misses  across all brands
  • Review the adequacy of internal controls surrounding all material incidents of improprieties or alleged improprieties
  • Assist in the assessment of brand level incident reports, consider action plans and suggest recommendations
  • Assist with root cause analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of RAAS Maritime investigation reports
  • Monitoring the status of the recommendations and agreed action plans
  • Assist with internal audits when required
  • Development of KPI’s and data analytics
  • Preparation of management reports
  • Provide maritime assistance to all brands and to the non-maritime section of RAAS.
  • Ensure that the RAAS methodology and integral quality standards are adhered to for planning, fieldwork, and reporting

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Master or Chief Engineer  Certificate of Competence , degree in nautical, technical or environmental disciplines
  • Confident in communicating effectively and constructively at all levels and by different means (written, verbal, listening)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good judgment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and requirements, applicable to passenger ships.
  • High level of professionalism/independence/confidentiality
  • Inquisitive/assertive demeanor
  • Consistent and disciplined approach that allows accomplishment of objectives and the effective management of projects
