Job Description

* Develop and implement drilling procedures, policies, practices and guidelines that are in conformance with corporate/global standards and in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
* Review annual drilling, testing and completion plans/budgets and assist Production Operations in the development of cross disciplinary proposals for approval.
* Work closely and provide independent advice to the Drilling team to ensure activities are safe, comply with regulatory requirements and Company directives as well as industry standards with minimal environmental impact.
* Participate, mentor and provide technical guidance and advice to the Drilling teams, assisting with resolution of technical issues and queries arising from ongoing operations.
* Keeping abreast of and informing the business of all changes to standards, regulations, practices, etc. within the drilling discipline, ensuring consistent application of law, regulations, mandatory and preferred industry standards and codes of practice. * Management of Change: responsible for giving advice in relation to change ensuring stakeholders clearly understand the proposed change and that the advice given is relevant and accurate.
* Facilitate communication with the Asia Pacific regional D&C (Drilling and Completions) team. Promote sharing of best practices, learnings, HSE incidents etc. * Support the Regional Technical Manager by implementing and monitoring assurance activities within the region.
* Responsible for the training and development of local Drilling staff and progress for a stronger succession plan.
* Lead auditor for regional drilling operations conducting regular monitoring of installations, vessels and facilities and coaching drilling personnel in the auditing process.
* B.Sc. in engineering (preferably petroleum).
* Up-to-date well control certification.
* 20 years oil field experience primarily focused on drilling operations * International experience in Operator Companies.
* Experience drilling complex wells.
* Exposed to different types of completions.
* Experience in leading international and multicultural drilling personnel.
* Experience working in small projects and under restricted resources conditions.
* Experience in crisis management, well control and SIMOPS operations.
