Chief eEngineer (Marine) SAUDI ARABIA

We are seeking a highly competent Chief Engineer with a Class I Unlimited Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency, from a recognized Marine Academy or Nautical College, to serve as a Chief Engineer on Marine vessels (Jack-up Barges, Floaters).

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, repair and maintenance of all main propulsion equipment and auxiliary machinery on an assigned vessel under the general supervision of the Captain.

The work schedule will be 42 days on/21 days off, with company paid travel and vacation.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold an HNC/HND in Marine Engineering from a recognized Maritime academy or Nautical college.

You will also hold a valid Class 1 Unlimited Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC). The certificate must be valid and in accordance with STCW-95 requirements.

You will have at least 15 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on Docking Tugs, Anchor Handling Tugs Supply and Safety Vessels (AHTSS), and/or Jack-up Barges.

You will be able to communicate clearly in oral and written English.
You must be computer literate.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Provides supervision and work direction for all engine room personnel during regular watch and is on call 24 hours/day while on board the vessel. 

Verify and sign the watch and daily log books and records. 

Provide on-the-job instruction and guidance for assigned trainees.

Ensures preventive maintenance activities at sea are carried out on all machinery, including: heavy diesel engines, air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, electronic, mechanical drive systems, pollution control, firefighting, and other auxiliary equipment. 

Ensures proper operating and repair procedures for all machinery are followed through inspection and spot checks of work in progress. 

Initiates requirements for fuel and water, and signs loading documents. 

Ensures that engine room personnel on all watches are trained in proper operating procedures, maintenance programs, firefighting and emergency procedures. 

Compile and update an inventory of spare parts and tools.
